SUPPORTING, EMPOWERING, AND CONNECTING PRINCIPALS
The mission of the Tennessee Principals Association is to support, empower, and connect Tennessee Principals.

NAESP National Outstanding Assistant Principal (NOAP) Award (for Tennessee)

 Online NOAP applications are due for the TPA Award Committee to review by January 31, 2026. 

All applicants must meet the following criteria and deadlines for consideration:

Nominated Assistant Principals must be a current Member of the Tennessee Principals Association & NAESP for the past year.

  • Nominated Assistant Principals must be a current Member of the Tennessee Principals Association & NAESP for the past year.
  • TPA can only recognize one elementary and one middle school assistant principal for this award. These selections will be made by the NAESP deadline listed in the portal.
  • All applicants must create an account and submit their applications on the NOAP Portal, which may be accessed by clicking on the link below.
  • Please review all award criteria located on the portal website prior to submitting an application.
  • All applicants who meet the award criteria and submit by the state designated deadline.
  • Final selections will be made by the TPA Award Committee and announced in the spring prior to the NAESP Deadline listed on the portal.

NAESP National Distinguished Principal (NDP) Award (for Tennessee)

Online NDP applications are due for the TPA Award Committee to review by February 28, 2026. 

 

All applicants must meet the following criteria and deadlines for consideration:

  • Nominated Principals Must be a current Member of the Tennessee Principals Association & NAESP for the past year and an Active Principal for at least five years.  
  • TPA can only recognize one elementary and one middle school principal for this award. These selections will be made by the NAESP deadline listed in the portal.
  • All applicants must create an account and submit their applications on the NDP Portal, which may be accessed by clicking on the link below.
  • Please review all award criteria located on the portal website prior to submitting an application.
  • All applicants who meet the award criteria and submit by the state designated deadline above will be reviewed by the TPA Award Committee.
  • Final selections will be made by the TPA Award Committee and announced in the spring of 2026.
